Getting ready to say goodbye to 2011 and hello 2012. Got a E-mail that I was elected again to the AC for the NSCA. Lots of things going on in Tx with the new board, I hope I will be able to help.
Tomorrow is our fun Fitasc shoot we will see if anyone shows up to shoot

New Years Day Fitasc Fun Shoot

Weather allowing we will be holding a 60 target Fitasc shoot at Battle Born Sporting Clays in Mound House. Cost looks like it will be $30. This will be a fun shoot and will be squad ed.. Times are 10am   12 noon  and 2 PM.

I had a good day on the 14th..I was a wee bit wore out last night to add to my blogg. But feeling better today, dogs are still a wee bit sleepy. Riley is turning into a bird finding machine he had 5 great points on chuckers.. oh did I say wild chuckers!! I do need to work with Carson our yellow lab to sit when Riley goes on point as he want in and busted the first covey that Riley pointed.
I will say it was a real work out going up and down the hills and walking over the lava rocks to get to the birds. But with the great points I was very happy.. Maybe a little quail hunting this weekend.

Looking forward to 2012
 I am looking ahead to 2012 as it will be a very busy year. Starting with the shot show in Jan hopefully the AC meeting at the end of Jan. Than it is the start of the shooting year 1st shoot in Tuscon AZ.
Shoot for a cure starts in Feb in LV (check out the home page. http://www.shootforacure.us/)
Target setting will be a full year with the Regional shoot in Ca at Cam Hills the Top Gun Shoot in Wa and the World Shoot in IL
Teaching will be a open book. I am bringing a coach in from the UK to work with us for 2 days. Check back for info and dates.

Here it is the end of the shooting year.
It is the 6th of Dec. I missed the shoot in Az as I was under the weather, Vandy Shot well, she won the ladies main with a 169 a great way for her to end up the year. She had a great year but she missed her goal by a few points to make first team All-American.I think if she did not get sick before the Top Gun Shoot she would have made it.. Oh well. She is starting a new job in a few weeks so without Vac her shooting will be cut back in 2012. I guess she will just have to win the shoots she goes to LOL.

To go over the year of 2011
My shooting year started off with a bang shooting well..till I want to the US Open. That shoot messed my head up big time..It took me till Oct to get back on track with Steve W's  Paul and Vandy help.
The other thing that helped and I think has made a very big difference was going with ear plugs that let me listen to my I-Pod. so it is Hail Hail to rock and roll. It really helps me from thinking to much and my flinching has really dropped off to almost zero.
I did have a dramatic experience at the Top Gun Shoot, my truck got broken into and all of my stuff got ripped off, I felt violated big time and it has taken a long time to get over it.

My Students this year have done very well Vandy kicked butt and is in Master Class. Greg Mackintosh  has gotten back into shooting and has made Jr 3rd team  All-American. Jody Holdten  has made master class Cindy V and Mark F have all punched up in class. Matt has gotten back on track and is shooting real well.

My target setting was a good year. With Quail Point's Fitasc the Top Gun Shoot up in Wa and the Battle Born 100 target Fitasc, And to end it all the New style Fitasc at the  Nationals

Shoot for a cure had a good year with shoots that I did for then in Tx Mi and two in Ca.

June or end of June

We have been on the road a lot. Ca state Tx State Us Open,. Next up Road trip from Tx to Reno.
Than lesson in Ca ,Birds shoot on the 8th, than off to ILL for a level II.. Back home than driving up to Wa for the Top Gun Shoot.
Than dove hunting and Battle Borns frist Fitasc shoot on the 4th of Sept

March 25th

Man will this weather ever get better??? I am starting to go a wee bit stir crazy. Can't shoot can't work at Battle Born. I did finish doing taxes and getting ready to ship them off. And sorted all my business cards.. I know it was a exciting time LOL but I have been trying to get around to it sooner than latter.
I think the weather is going to get better I hope!!! We are going to try and make it to Carson Valley sunday to shoot a wee bit of skeet.
Than next week off to Birds for lesson on Friday the 1st than shooting in their tournament on Sat with some lesson Sat afternoon and Sunday.

March 9th

Just got done with 3 weeks of tournaments. Need a wee bit of a brake to practice this Sat. Than off to birds on Sun.
Vandy got her new gun and we will set it up for her and have her shoot a bunch. Getting fired up for the trip to Arg SA end of April.

Weather looks good for the weekend and we are going to shoot at BB, we got a cart for our Battue trap and will be taking it out on Thursday.
Will be fun.
Than next weekend it is off to Birds if the weather lets us over the hill

Well the 2011 shooting year has gotten under way. And what a great shoot to start 011 off with the AZ open was great
Some really cool stuff this year like I will setting this years Fitasc at the NSCA Nationals in Oct and did I say it is going to be new style!!
If CHHP holds the fall Fitasc I will be doing it, I think they will be bringing down the amount of targets this year.
And we are going to try and hold a 100 target Fitasc and 5-stand at Battle Born in July If the county of Lyon gives us the ok
